Instructions for Authors

ORAL PRESENTATIONS
The oral presentations each have a 20-minute time slot. Presenters are asked to prepare a 12-minutes presentation to allow 5-6 additional minutes for questions and answers, and 2 minutes for speaker transitions. Slides should be in the widescreen (16:9) format. Presenters should bring their laptop and have it ready when their presentation time comes. Please, make sure that your laptop has an HDMI connection port, if not make sure to bring an HDMI adaptor. Also, please, have the projector connection tested before your presentation.

 

JOURNAL TRACK PRESENTATIONS
Journal track presentations have 15-minute time slots. Presenters of these presentations are asked to prepare a 10-minute presentation to allow 2-3 minutes for questions and answers and 2 minutes for speaker transitions. As for regular presentations, slides should be in the widescreen (16:9) format. Presenters should bring their laptop and have it ready when their presentation time comes. Please, make sure that your laptop has an HDMI connection port, if not make sure to bring an HDMI adaptor. Also, please, have the projector connection tested before your presentation.

 

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Posters should be in the A0 format (841 x 1189 mm) or smaller. On the day of your poster presentation, you will be able to hang your poster during the morning coffee break. Please, hang your poster on the poster board that has your paper ID#. Poster sessions are 70 minutes long. Material to hang posters on the boards we will be supplied.

 

POSTER TEASER SESSIONS
Each poster session will be preceded by a poster teaser session around noon each day where presenters are asked to briefly provide the main highlights of their poster during a brief 2-minutes presentation using up to 3 slides. Please, send your slides in PDF format to dcorbett@utk.edu by September 3, in order to have them included in the poster teaser session. The PDF slides should be in the widescreen (16:9) format. They will be appended into a single document to
keep the session flowing efficiently.
